The Royal Mint has issued a limited edition 2022 Gold Proof Elizabeth II Memorial Crown to commemorate the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. Featuring a new definitive portrait of King Charles III by British sculptor Martin Jennings, this coin is a fitting tribute to the late Queen.

The obverse features Jennings’ portrait of Charles III, with the legend reading: 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 5 POUNDS · 2022’. The reverse features two portraits of Queen Elizabeth II in diamond-shaped apertures, with the crown above and 'EIIR' cypher below. The legend reads: 'ELIZABETH REGINA' and '1926 - 2022'. The coin is 22-carat gold proof, 39.94 grams in weight, and 38.61 millimeters in diameter. It has a face value of £5 / Five Pounds.
