Oh No!... It's a Gruffalo

A well known and famous character of Julia Donaldson’s exciting children's book, ‘The Gruffalo’ tells the tales of the mouse (the protagonist) and its encounter with the snake, the owl and the famished Gruffalo deep in the forest. The Gruffalo’s anatomical description features a hybrid of both a buffalo and a bear. It turned out to be a best-selling modern classic book with as much as 13.5 million copies sold worldwide. It is, therefore, no surprise that The Royal Mint's 2019 50p Gruffalo coins delight collectors young and old.

This recent development comes after the successful launching of other notable children’s character-engraved coins such as the Snowman 50p, Paddington Bear 50p and of course the much-loved Beatrix Potter 50p Coins. We are constantly updating our range at Exclusive Coins.
