Occasionally, the Royal Mint produces a coin that - due to a combination of beauty and investment value – attracts huge interest. Unusually, 2017 has already seen the release of two such coins, both celebrating Queen Elizabeth II.
These are now available together in a single boxed set - The Elizabeth II Gold and Silver Collection – from Exclusive Coins.
This set comprises:
The 2017 gold Sovereign.
A coin that celebrates the 200th anniversary of the first modern-day sovereign, minted during the reign of George III. This beautiful 22ct gold coin features Benedetto Pistrucci’s famed St. George slaying the Dragon design – admired worldwide as a supreme example of the engraver’s art – as well as a ‘200’ mark displayed on the bottom left-hand side.
The 2017 Britannia £2 silver coin.
This continues a venerable tradition by featuring the national symbol of Britannia - first used on British coinage in 1672 - this weighty and valuable coin contains one ounce of .999 purity fine silver, making it the largest coin in the set. The coins are presented together in a handsome mahogany effect collection box with black mock velour interior. “Demand will be very high for this set,” says the Founder of Exclusive Coins.
“I would estimate our whole stock selling in around eight days because these coins are both valuable and beautiful.
Also, because they are legal tender they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax - making them even more attractive from an investment perspective.”
Exclusive Coins has just 50 of these sets available.
